Prologue
The year is 20XX. I was deeply engrossed in a game.
『 Planetarium 』
A world where special stars, called Star Gods, bestow their blessings.
An RPG set in an era of turmoil, where humans and demons vie for supremacy across two vast continents.
Players can choose from various background settings known as Templates to progress through the story. This choice affects the character’s basic abilities, specialties, and the events they encounter.
One template is The Nameless War Ghost, an orphan who doesn’t know their parents’ faces and survives as a mercenary using only their weapon and skills.
Another is The Heir of Red and Blue Blood, the last in line of an imperial dynasty and the descendant of a royal family destroyed by that very empire.
Then there’s The Proud Barbarian, from a northern hunting tribe, who seeks to retrieve a stolen tribal treasure.
Since hearing about the game’s development years ago, I eagerly awaited its release. I purchased it about a month ago and have been playing it during my free time. I’ve just completed the third template’s ending.
「You have cleared the story of 'The Proud Barbarian.'」
「By clearing three scenarios, you have unlocked 'Heroic Gathering' mode.」
「In 'Heroic Gathering' mode, characters from templates you did not choose appear as NPCs.」
“...So I've only completed half of the six templates. Or realistically, maybe 10%.”
This game has a multi-ending structure that changes based on player choices.
With a vast number of events and scenarios, even the same template offers countless customization options in gender, appearance, name, and growth tendencies. The depth of content is immense.
And with the expansion pack set to release—
Well, 10% completion is an overestimate. I’ve barely scratched the surface.
Having a lot left to enjoy is a good thing, though.
“Next, I’ll try The Greedy Debauchee. It has a lot of negative reviews, but it's crucial for 'Heroic Gathering' mode.”
Though I’ve cleared three templates, I’m not completely ignorant about the others. I’ve read other players’ reviews online.
From what I’ve gathered, The Greedy Debauchee is a problematic template.
The first issue is its lack of combat abilities. Unlike The Nameless War Ghost with weapon proficiency boosts or The Heir of Red and Blue Blood with magical control enhancements, this template has no combat advantages.
Recruiting strong party members to compensate is tough due to the high initial notoriety level.
However, there are advantages.
The initial funds are high, and luck—or more specifically, wealth luck—is extraordinary, leading to much higher drop rates for money and rare items compared to others.
In simple terms, it’s the perfect template for farming!
While it’s the most challenging and tedious at the start, this template allows the highest final party specs.
“I’ll set everything up today and start tomorrow.”
After configuring a few settings, I created the character and went to sleep.
The next day, I died in a car accident without ever returning home.
